Where do independent tourists go in the summer of 2024?
In the top 10 countries in which Russian tourists often independently book hotels for the summer Belarus. Abkhazia. Turkey. Georgia. Italy. ThailandArmenia, France, Spain, Kazakhstan.
Demand for hotels and apartments abroad for July this year is 72% higher than last year. The share of foreign destinations in the booking structure has grown - from 8% in 2023 to 12% in the current one.
The main demand falls on the CIS countries - almost half of the total volume of hotel reservations abroad (46%) for the summer. Demand for Belarus increased by 94%, and the number of bookings in Abkhazia increased almost fourfold.
European countries account for 14% of all bookings – the figure decreased compared to 2023, when the share was 25%.
Middle Eastern countries showed a slight decline compared to last year – from 13% to 10% this year. The share of Asian countries increased from 6% to 9%.
In travel agencies on the first place in sales among foreign destinations in July, Turkey, which accounts for 46% of the total, the second – Egypt (15%). Abkhazia - in third place with a share of 5.2%, only slightly higher than in Thailand and the UAE. Belarus is not in the top ten at all.
