Oman intends to issue tourist visas and start receiving tourists
The ONA news agency reports that the highest commission on the coronavirus situation Oman decided to resume the issuance of visas at the request of local hotels or travel agencies to tourists who intend to visit the Sultanate among organized groups.
The decision is due to a decrease in the number of infected and deaths from COVID-19. The Embassy of Oman in Moscow confirmed this information and assured that the Russians who received the document will be able to freely enter the country. However, the procedure for processing and issuing permits has not been approved, the consulate is waiting for clarification from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman.
Individual travelers cannot visit the Arab state. All other tourist visa types – at the airport on arrival, privately at the invitation of a local sponsor or at the embassy – are not yet issued.
Russians will be able to get to Oman only on connecting flights. In November, Royal Flight and Nordwind airlines received permits for frequencies in Muscat, Russia did not open flights with this country.
Due to the closed borders of many resort countries, Oman and the UAE can become an alternative to the traditional “winter” destinations of Southeast Asia.
