Kaliningrad region: tourist project "Gothic ring" is being developed
Tourist project "Gothic ring" (Kaliningrad region) will receive serious funding.
Minister for Culture and Tourism of the region Andrey Yermak said: In the field of tourism, the Gothic Ring project becomes a beacon for the region’s economy. Its implementation has already begun. It will take two years to complete the first phase. More than 700 million rubles will be allocated to finance the entire project in the regional budget for three years.
Andrey Yermak explained that the lighthouse project forms a single tourist route Kaliningrad – Pravdinsk – Railway – Kaliningrad and unites cultural heritage sites.
The points of the route are ancient order castles, fortresses, cathedrals, churches and other buildings that were built in the past centuries in the style of "Gothic" and "neo-Gothic".
Some of them are in good condition, others are destroyed half or more. But they can trace the development of the architecture of these areas, to see the beauty and grandeur of buildings, built, as a rule, of red brick.
At the first stage, we are talking about putting in order the display facilities themselves and the territory around, as well as creating a providing infrastructure for receiving tourists.
