Russia opens air links with Vietnam, India, Finland, Qatar
From January 27, Russia will resume flights with four countries: passenger flights will fly to Russia. Vietnam. India. Finland. Qatar. The volume of transportation to Egypt is increasing.
The government of the Russian Federation reported that from January 27, flights resumed:
Vietnam (Moscow-Hanoi, 2 times a week).
India (Moscow-Delhi, 2 times a week);
Finland (Moscow-Helsinki, 2 times a week and St. Petersburg-Helsinki, 2 times a week);
Qatar (Moscow-Doha, 3 times a week)
The number of flights to Egypt on the Moscow-Cairo route is also increasing up to 5 times a week.
These decisions were made at a meeting of the operational headquarters for the prevention of the importation and spread of a new coronavirus infection.
Visits of Russians to Finland can only be educational or humanitarian, the country’s borders for other Russians are closed until February 9, 2021. Travel for tourist purposes is not possible. In theory, tourists can use Helsinki Airport as a transit hub.
In Vietnam, Russians fly on a work visa: entry is allowed to foreign investors, diplomats, experts, highly qualified workers and business managers, citizens of Vietnam.
Flights to India from abroad are suspended until January 31, 2021, except for outbound and humanitarian flights.
The country does not allow foreigners, except for citizens of Nepal and Bhutan, foreign spouses and children of Indian citizens, students (at least one parent must be a citizen of India). Tourist travel is not possible, visas and e-visas are cancelled and are not issued. Transit through the territory of India Russians are not allowed.
It is possible that the situation will change after January 31, but there is no information yet.
Qatar’s borders are also closed to Russians. You can fly to the country citizens of Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the UAE and their spouses.
Exceptions for citizens of other countries: entry is possible for diplomats, holders of a residence permit in Qatar, foreign workers. All of them must pass the arrival test and quarantine.
Tourist trips to Qatar are not yet possible. The same goes for the Russians. However, they will be able to use the airport in Doha as a transit point, which will expand transportation to the Maldives.
