Rosturizm called the timing of the resumption of sales of tours with cashback
Sales of travel in Russia with cashback can resume by March 2021. This was stated by Zarina Doguzova, the head of Rostourism.
“Given the technology itself, the process is still quite complex, I think it will be more realistic to restart the program in the first half of the year.”
Doguzova noted that Rosturizm intends to restart the program closer to March so that tourists “can plan spring, May holidays, early bookings for autumn.”
Zarina Doguzova believes that active international tourist flows are unlikely to begin before the second half of 2021.
She stressed that in general, the turnover of the tourism industry is highly dependent on inbound flows, and they, according to her, can recover no earlier than 2022.
The head of Rostourism believes that with a favorable scenario for the return of domestic tourism in Russia to pre-crisis indicators, 2021 may go, but everything will depend on the epidemiological situation.
On December 21, Rosturizm reported that the turnover of the Russian tourism industry by the end of this year will decrease by 60% compared to 2020.
At a press conference on December 17, Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to extend the cashback program for 2021.
