Sanatorium rest in the Crimea is in high demand

The number of those wishing to relax in the sanatoriums of the Crimea increased by 16% in 2020, the press service of the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic reported, citing information from analysts of the service "Sanatorium of Russia".

“In 2020, sanatoriums of the Crimea were in high demand – online demand for sanatorium holidays in the Crimea increased by 16%”, – stated in the message.

The Crimean authorities explain the growth by the fact that in the conditions of COVID-restrictions, opportunities for recovery have remained. Also, more than 40 accommodation facilities have developed recovery programs after coronavirus infection.

In general, the demand for recreation in the Crimea remains high, despite the gradual opening of foreign destinations for tourists, said the Minister of resorts and tourism of the Republic Vadim Volchenko. He is confident that the trend will continue.

In 2020, when restrictions were imposed due to the spread of the coronavirus, Crimea received 6.3 million tourists - 15% less than in 2019, during which the region was visited by a record 7.43 million people for the post-Soviet time.

August 2020 showed an increase of 15%, September - by 40%, and in the New Year the tourist flow increased by 14%.
