Tourist cashback for children proposed to extend to the New Year holidays

State Duma deputies sent a letter to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin with a proposal to extend the program of tourist cashback for children from January 1 to January 8, 2024, and set the amount of cashback at 50%.

Over the past 10 years, the number of children’s camps has decreased from 12,400 in 2010 to 7,100 in 2022, and the number of children aged 5–17 has increased from 18.4 million to 23 million.

According to the deputies, with a shortage of round-the-clock children’s winter camps and the rise in the cost of outbound tourism, it seems appropriate to adopt a comprehensive program “New Year holidays – 2024”.

The shortage of camps led to higher prices for children’s holidays and made it inaccessible for most Russian families. The new program, according to the deputy, will allow organizing winter leisure for a large number of Russian children.
