Amsterdam: Van Gogh’s Green Sun Museum tour

You will see with your own eyes how Van Gogh’s personality changed from work to work, how not only love and despair, passion and restless state of mind, but also thoroughness, methodicalness, purposefulness shine through his paintings. We will talk about how the style, technique and palette of the artist changed over time. Let us recall the artist’s fascination with Japanese prints and see how this exotic aesthetic influenced his lines and compositions. Let’s think about why the emotional tension emanating from his paintings is so strong. We will tell you what influence the artist had on the art of the XX century. And with you, we will try to follow the usual cliches - genius, rogue artist, sufferer, madman - to see a living person.

• Your guide will be an art historian, a graduate of Christie’s and Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London.
• It is advisable to purchase tickets to the museum in advance, 3-5 days before the tour. You can do this on the museum website.
