Description:
Nircanne Castle is a UNESCO-protected cultural monument located in the southern part of Maastricht, near the Belgian border. The magnificent castle, perfectly preserved, is built on terraces, on different levels. Previously, there were Roman fortifications on this place, the dungeons of which are still preserved and are used as wine cellars. The castle existed in the XIV century, but the current buildings were erected at the end of the XVII century.
Nircanne Castle currently houses a fashionable hotel and a magnificent restaurant with a refined menu. Nirkanne has its own vineyard and red wine production.
