Cathedral
Description:
The cathedral, located in the Portuguese city of Coimbra, was founded in the VI century. In the VIII century it was captured by the Arabs, and only in the middle of the XII century was liberated, and services continued in it again. Destroyed during the attack of the Turks, the cathedral was restored, and is now considered a monument of architecture, where services and religious ceremonies are held.
The majestic building, the walls of which are lined with pink marble, nowadays almost completely resembles the first temple built on this site. The facades of the temple are decorated with sculptures located in special arches, sculptural bas-reliefs above the windows, a stone staircase leads to the entrance. In the upper middle part of the facade you can see the stone ancient coat of arms of the city.
