Royal Lisbon. Visit 2 palaces. Auto-pedestrian
Description:
It is time to plunge into the world of holidays and balls, gold, silver, crystal shoes, luxury and wealth. In the world of palace coups, shrouded in a web of intrigue and gossip.
Ah! How not just lived kings and courtiers.
I invite you to the Royal Penateuch.
Enjoy the beauty and richness of the royal chambers. See the splendor of the palace parks. Surprised by the stories of luxurious life at the court. To sympathize with such an interesting, but often so difficult royal life.
I invite you to visit 2 palaces: Ajuda and Kelus. They're completely different.
Ajuda - the official royal residence Kelus was built as a summer palace for balls.
Ajuda - more than 30 museum halls, display the wealth of the last Portuguese kings. Handmade gilded furniture, ancient tapestries with woven heraldic signs and symbols of royal power, painted wall panels and sculptural interior fountains, collections of Meissen and Sevres porcelain, luxurious crystal chandeliers and candelabras, portraits of Portuguese monarchs and art paintings of famous painters.
Quelos is often referred to as the Portuguese Versailles, but it is much more sleek and elegant. The palace was built as a summer country estate, where the royal family, not burdened with the strict etiquette of the capital, could enjoy the clean air and nature. The weakening of court norms of behavior here is evidenced by the planning itself, in which the personal chambers of monarchs and halls intended for the assembly of the public are easily alternated.
Do not deny yourself the pleasure, for a moment, of diving into royal life. Feel the spirit of that period. Imagine yourself on the throne before the court. As George Bernard Shaw said, “Kings are not born, they are made.”
