Not good. A fairy tale of the Middle Ages!
Description:
Our tour starts at your hotel.
On the way to Obidos, I will tell you about the history of Portugal, about all historical events, about the heroes of the seafarers and their role in the history and development of all mankind.
Arriving in Obidos, we will plunge into the atmosphere of the Middle Ages. Stroll along the cobbled streets among beautiful white houses with blue fringes. You will witness the evolution of the city in several eras, from the Roman to the Renaissance and Baroque.
Obidos was beautiful already in the XIII century, when during the arrival of King Dinis, he liked his bride Isabel de Aragon and was presented to her as a wedding gift. It became a tradition and until 1833 the queens received the town as a wedding gift. Hence the second name - City of Brides. And even today, it is considered a very good sign for young married couples to spend a week after the wedding in one of the most luxurious hotels in Portugal – Pusada Castelo de Óbidos. Óbidos is also known as the Chocolate Capital of Portugal because the International Chocolate Festival takes place here every year in March and April.
