Ancient Évora and the Marble Triangle

Description:

Alentejo is an agricultural region that occupies almost a third of Portugal. The granite city-monument of Evora, which acquired special metropolitan significance during the time of active relations with Spain, was almost not destroyed by natural disasters, only slightly distorted by time by its ancient ensembles. Evora is listed by UNESCO as a cultural matrix, the casts of which were many colonial cities in Asia and Latin America. This city has almost retained its style, and you can spend hours wandering around it, but we will try to explore the main attractions of the city: the Roman temple, the Giraldo Square, the Cathedral, the Palace and Church of St. Francis, etc. at will.

“Princess Alentejo” is called the city of Vila Visoza, the most beloved winter and hunting residence of the kings of Portugal. The palace of Braganza made of blue marble was built in the XVI-XVIII centuries, and the city around is so charming in winter and summer that it makes you forget about the passage of time. Between Evora and Vila Visoza is Ashtremos, which is famous for its rich marble deposits, beautiful olives, oranges and picturesque endless rural serenity, dominated by the legendary Three Crown Tower in the ancient castle. Ashtremosh has always been a military stronghold of the southern borders. Nevertheless, historical love affairs and the life of the beloved saint of the Portuguese – Queen Isabel – are connected with the past of the city. Lunch is possible in a typical restaurant.
