Alentejo Castles and Palaces

Description:

Excursion to this region in itself is very interesting and includes two interesting historical sites:

The first is the city of the fortress of Monsarache, located on the top of a hill, from where you can enjoy magnificent views of the vast expanses of the Alentejo, neighboring Spain and the Guadiana River, with its ancient history from the Romans, Moors, Visigoths and Knights Templar. They built these walls in the 13th century, which have come down to us almost untouched by time.

The second is the castle and palace of the dukes of Braganza in Vila Visoza. The city also has its glorious history. The castle served as a stronghold in a series of castles on the border with Spain, and the palace, first owned by the ducal family of Braganza, becomes the residence of the Portuguese kings when the dukes ascend to the Portuguese throne.

In the castle there is an interesting hunting museum and an archaeological museum, (in the palace we will see untouched interiors, it also contains a collection of paintings by the penultimate King Carlusz, as well as paintings by other masters.

The tour is very interesting, and in views, probably the most exciting.
