Park of Nations

Alameda dos Oceanos, 1990 Lisboa, Portugal

Description:

The Park of Nations is a popular recreation area, an area of active trade and entertainment, which became world famous after the World Exhibition in Lisbon. It is located in the northeastern part of the city on the banks of the Tagus River, near the famous Vasco da Gama Bridge.

When this industrial and largely abandoned area was selected as the venue for Expo 98 in the 1990s, a large-scale renovation began. In fact, the name "Park of Nations" appeared after the exhibition. As if in the blink of an eye on the banks of the Tagus River grew a grandiose shopping center Vasco da Gama, the bridge of the same name, the International Exhibition Complex, numerous hotels and office buildings.

The main attraction of the Park of Nations is the Oceanarium, in which, in addition to the huge aquarium, special zones with caves and rocks are equipped. In the Knowledge Pavilion there is an interactive Museum of Science and Technology, which amazes the imagination of adults and children. Residents of Lisbon come to the Park of Nations in order to relax, have fun or walk along the promenade.
