Aveiro and Costa Nova

Description:

Aveiro is one of the beautiful and ancient cities of Portugal, famous for its canals, for which it is called the Portuguese Venice. The canals are formed by river sediments in the coastal lagoon.

The lagoon and canals give an unusual look and originality to the overall picture of the city. The city is also the Portuguese capital of Art Novo, here we can admire the numerous facades of houses decorated in this style. The best way to explore the city is an hour-long walk through the canals on the Moliseyro boat. For lunch stop in the fishing village of Costa Nova, which is famous for a rich selection of seafood. But the main dish is eel! The village is located on a sandy spit - on one side of the lagoon, and on the other, behind the dunes - the ocean. Please the eye striped houses, which are the hallmark of this romantic place.

As an option for a tour for the whole day, I suggest choosing:

Visit the oldest porcelain factory in Portugal, founded in 1824. Visit to the museum and master class on porcelain painting. You take your artwork with you!

Visit one of the wineries of the Bairrad region, which is famous for its sparkling wines.
