Douro Valley is one of the most beautiful places in Portugal

This is a car tour from Porto to the region of indescribable beauty, where aged port wines are produced, we will get acquainted with the cultural landscape included by UNESCO in the List of World Heritage Sites of Humanity, and weaving with an interesting history of the development of this region, and, of course, we will taste wine and port.

Route:

Departure from Porto in the morning

1. Our first stop is Goord Amarante. Amarante is a cozy and traditional small town, one of the most beautiful places in Portugal - the valley of the Douro River. It is a city of love, courage and sweets.

2. The second stop is the São Leonardo observation deck. From here there is a magnificent panoramic view of the river, vineyards, mountains and valleys. Here we are waiting for lunch with a delightful view, delicious food and delicious port wine!

3. The third stop is Pinhão. Here you can take an hour walk along the Douro River, enjoying the magnificent scenery.

4. After the river walk, we will have an amazing journey by car along the most beautiful road in Portugal, Estrada Nacional EN 222. From here, from the left bank of the river, there is just a stunning view of the hills, the river and vineyards. The hillsides are surrounded by stepped terraces built over the centuries and vineyards that are thus saturated with moisture and sunshine.

5. Stop in one of the finest wineries Quinta da Pacheca. Here you can taste both dry wines and various port wines, for which the whole region is famous.

6. Return to Porto for dinner and enjoy the surrounding scenery on the way.
