Tram Museum

Alameda Basilio Teles 51, Porto, Portugal

About the company:

The tram museum, located in Porto, Portugal, was created by STCP, a public transport company. It was opened in 1992 on the territory of the former power plant Massarelos, on an area of about two thousand square meters.

The expositions of the museum, represented mainly by electric transport, acquaint visitors with the hundred-year history of trams in the country. Among the exhibits you can see ancient horses - wagons that pulled along the rails of the horse, the first electric trams that appeared in the city at the end of the XIX century, modern cars on which you can ride around the city. Also an interesting example of the collection of the Museum of trams is the “British tram”, donated to the city at the end of the XX century by one of the British manufacturers.
