Cheboksary is a cozy capital of Chuvashia on the banks of the Volga River with a rich history dating back to the XIII-XIV centuries. The city combines provincial chambers and a large river center: here lives a special atmosphere of folk traditions, modern culture and leisurely walks along the embankment. The symbol of the city and one of the largest dominant is the 46-meter Monument of the Mother Patron, which welcomes guests on the high bank of the Volga.
Man-made attractions of Cheboksar amaze with diversity: the museum complex named after V. I. Chapaev and the monument to Chapaev, the Vvedensky Cathedral and the Church of the Assumption of the Most Holy Mother of God, the Spaso-Transfiguration Women's Monastery, the Republican Victory Memorial Park and monuments to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. In the center is the Cheboksary River Port and Republic Square with green squares and a central park, and the Moscow Embankment with the Central Beach is a favorite place for walks and city events.
The natural corners around the city are no less attractive: the Chavash Varmane National Park preserves local forests and rare species, and the Cheboksary Bay and the Volga give long embankments and beaches. In the vicinity there are numerous lakes - Syutkul, the deepest in Chuvashia, picturesque Svetloye and Izyar, White and even Lake "Sea Eye" in neighboring regions. Parks, forest plantations and reservoirs create opportunities for fishing, family picnics and quiet walks in nature.
On our site, all these attractions can be conveniently viewed on an interactive map: brief descriptions, photos and marks on the map will help you understand what to see first, how long it will take to inspect and how to lay the optimal route. The service allows you to create a personal scheme of walking around the city, mark points of interest and look at the distances between them to plan the day by time or energy.
You are free to explore Cheboksary on your own, walking along the embankment and walking from one monument to another, or take advantage of excursions from local guides. Experienced guides will tell little-known stories, open hidden courtyards, recommend the best points for photos and help to better understand the culture and traditions of the republic - excursions complement any independent walk.
Come to Cheboksary to see the combination of historical monuments and wildlife, feel the Volga atmosphere and discover new routes. The city is waiting for travelers who are ready to go from the embankment to museums, from temples to forest lakes, everyone will find here what to see and what to enjoy.
