A few words about Kazan toponymy
Description:
How do I get to the library? At 2:00 a.m. In Kazan...
Kirov Street and Kirov Dam are not the same thing. Previously, Moscow Street was called Kirov Street. But it is neither in Kirov nor in the Moscow district, but in Vakhitovsky.
In the Moscow district is Vakhitov Street. In the Volga district there is Vakhitov Square.
But on Vakhitov Square you can not find a monument to Vakhitov. Monument to Vakhitov - on Tukay Square. Monument to Tukayu - on Pushkin Street, a monument to Pushkin - near the Opera and Ballet Theater. Musa Jalil, and the monument to Kirov is on Karl Marx Street.
Musa Jalil's museum apartment is on Gorky Street. Gorky Street is not Gorky Highway.
Ametyevo is a village in the city center. With a characteristic gas pipeline and its railway station. Even two. And with the subway station, the village. In the subway station Ametyevo in one direction the sign should be "Exit to the city", and in the other - "Exit to the village".
Ametyevo or Ometyevo? Nobody knows. By rail, first there is the platform "Ametyevo Metro Station", then - Ometyevo station. That's what's in the commuter train scheme. Kaluga adjoins Ametyevo from the north. Did you know where Kaluga was?
There is Gaidar Street in Ametyevo. A convenient name: do not change the name every time the political system changes. If you want to get to Derbyshki by train, then you should follow not to the Derbyshka station, but to a stop of 804 km.
The train has a Vakhitovo station. But to Vakhitovsky district, Vakhitov square or especially Vakhitov street to go from it is a long way. St. Petersburg and Leningrad are two different streets. By the way, about "back to Leningrad": in Kazan there is Basseinaya Street (adjacent to the square near the NCC).
The main (and only?) street in the Kremlin is called Sheikman's pass. Who's Shakeman??? And the embankment of the street, connecting the Kirov and Lenin dams on the left bank, has no official name at all. But the square in front of the NCC has it. Sultan-Galiyev Square!
Stop on May 1 NOT on May 1st Square. Where's May 1st Square? And this is the square where Shaykman's driveway goes. There's Mislavsky Street right next door. Rarely can anyone tell you where this street is.
Freedom Square and Soviet Square are different squares. Everyone is confused, what is it? In Liberty Square, there is the Statue of Liberty.
Freedom Square was named after the February Revolution of 1917, not after the October Revolution.
Do not confuse the streets of Kul Gali with Kulahmetov, Galeev with Said-Galeev. And also the streets of academician Sakharov with academician Arbuzov.
There are 4 avenues in Kazan: Ibragimova, Yamasheva, Amirkhan and Victory. But when they say simply “Prospect”, they always mean “Victory Prospect”.
Victory Park is not on Victory Avenue. Victory Park - on Yamashev Avenue. And the fact that on Victory Avenue near the metro "Victory Avenue" is the Square of Glory.
Stop Ocean. The quasi-dominant of the whole neighborhood, but nothing but a stop, there is no "Ocean" and, of course, no ocean there. It is exactly the same as stopping the sun.
There are four dams in Kazan, counting from the Volga: the first is Kirov, the second is Lenin, the third is Millennium, the fourth is Third.
Akademik Lavrentiev Street crosses itself.
And 1. At Lenin’s garden sits not Lenin, but Butlerov! 2. At the Lyadsky garden (who does not know - it is not far from the house of Kekin, or "Tinkoff") a monument to Derzhavin! 3. By the way, Vladimir Martinovich Azin and Yak Andreevich Yudin were both Latvian shooters! 3.1. By the way, the street of Latvian shooters is not in Azino and not in Judino! 4. Rodina Street is originally Alexei Rodin Street, and a stop in public transport should be declared as "Homeland of Urama", not "Vatan Urama".
