The Fedorovsky Museum is part of the municipal institution "Krasnoturya Museum of Local Lore". The Fedorovsky Geological Museum was organized in Turinsky mines (now Krasnoturinsk) in 1894 by crystallographer scientist, geologist Evgraf Stepanovich Fedorov, who in the period from 1894 to 1899 led the geological research of the part of the middle and northern Urals, called the Theological Mountain District. The result of these studies, in particular, is the creation of this museum. It not only presents the mineralogy of the region, but also pays much attention to the unique personality of E.O. Fedorov. |
The building in which the museum is located is one of the first stone buildings (2 storeys), built in the middle of the XIX century in the Turin mines. |
