Novosibirsk

Railway Station Street

Description:

The largest town-planning phenomenon of the sixties was the piercing of the railway line from the square named after V. I. Lenin to the square named after N. G. Garin-Mikhailovsky (Station). It's over a kilometer long. The idea of breaking the highway arose in the master plan of 1927 (authored by Professor B. A. Korshunov), and then repeated in all the general plans of the city. The design of the highway began in 1951, and in the same year a public review of the project of its development by architect V. K. Petrovsky took place.
