Smolensk guide - excursion department

We are glad to offer you excursion programs in Smolensk!

The cost is indicated from..., for 1 hour of the tour, for all participants.

In the course of our programs, depending on the duration of the excursions, we will follow the iconic places associated with the history of Smolensk from the 9th century to the present day, touch the historical secrets and amazing legends of the Smolensk land;

take a tour of the oldest churches of Smolensk - pillars and defenders of Russian Orthodoxy, you will touch the walls of the most ancient (12th century) from the preserved temples of Smolensk - Archangel Michael, Peter and Paul, John the Theologian,

We will see the place of martyrdom of Prince Gleb (Smyadyn), who became one of the first Orthodox Saints in Russia.

Walk along the embankment of the Dnieper, where the famous trade route “from the Varangians to the Greeks” once passed;

visit the Cathedral of the Assumption, built on the place where Vladimir Monomakh married in the 11th century;

We will drive along the longest and most interesting of the preserved sections of the Smolensk fortress - the eastern one, with the legendary towers Orel, Veselukha, Pozdnyakov, Nikolskaya, Zaaltarnaya, Zimbulka, etc., where you will learn many interesting facts, beautiful legends and secrets of the great Smolensk fortress (1596-1602);

and, of course, make a fascinating walk through the rich history, magnificent monuments, architectural structures, rich green cozy parks historical center of Smolensk (Victory Square, Lopatinsky Garden, Blognier Park, Heroes’ Square, Thunder Tower and much, much more!);

We will visit the most important objects of the nearest suburbs of Smolensk:

make an excursion to Talashkino-country estate of Princess M.K. Tenisheva - "in the world of creators and masters";

visit one of the most interesting objects of the Red Bor - the mound of the Gnezdovsky complex (9-11 centuries), see the so-called "Hitler's Bunker" and the German military cemetery;

We will visit the Katyn MK located in the Katyn Forest - on the site of the tragic events of the 30-40s of the twentieth century, the victims of which were citizens of two countries - the Soviet Union and Poland.

and you will learn about significant events in the history of Smolensk region from the 9th century to the present day, inextricably linked with the history of our state.
