Dacha Museum of A.S. Pushkin

Yalta, Kirov Street, 112

About the company:

The museum dedicated to Alexander Pushkin in Gurzuf is remarkable for the fact that it is the first building in the European style on the coast of Crimea. The stone house in two floors was laid in 1808 by Duke Armand Emmanuel du Plessi Richelieu under his dacha. And in the vicinity there was a park of amazing beauty in the English style.

In 1814, Richelieu left Russia forever, but, remaining the owner of the house, gave it to the tenants. In 1820, this cottage was filmed for rest by the family of General Raevsky, whose guest at that time was a young poet Pushkin.

Despite the fact that Alexander Sergeevich spent only 3 weeks here, he considered this time "the happiest minutes of his life", to which he later returned in his works. Pushkin’s Eugene Onegin was conceived here.

The museum opened on June 4, 1989. The exhibition occupies 6 rooms. There are graphic portraits of acquaintances and friends of the poet, lithographs and engravings of views of the Crimea of the first half of the XIX century, and other exhibits of the era that help make a trip to those parts of the Crimea that Pushkin visited.
