About the company:

Prince L. S. Golitsyn, appointed in 1890 to the post of chief winemaker of the department in the Crimea and the Caucasus, decides to build the first underground tunnel-type plant in Russia for the production and aging of table and dessert wines. The construction of the plant was started in 1894 in a place called “Massandra”. Years of hard work were devoted to creating a unique production. 24 branded wines “Massandra” at international competitions were awarded 2 Grand Prix cups, 148 gold, silver and bronze medals. In the collection of wines “Massandra” founded by Golitsyn himself, there are currently about a million bottles. The oldest exhibit of the collection is the Jerez de la Frontera harvest of 1775. The world-famous association "Massandra" with its two factories and cellars carved into the rocks, in which the mystery of maturation of incomparable muscats, currents, port wines, is located near the Simferopol highway, above the Massandra Park. Massandra wines have been widely known for a long time. The roots of this fame are deep and reliable. From the very beginning, production was put on a scientific basis. First-class vines, the natural conditions of the South Coast with its long, dry, hot summer, the use of the features of each individual plot of land, the diligence of wine growers, the refined skill of winemakers - this is the recipe for the success of Massandrov products far beyond the borders of Ukraine. At all international tastings and competitions, it is invariably noted with high awards, and the famous white red stone muscat twice received the Grand Prix. With the lands of Massandra adjacent tract Magarach, which gave its name to the research Institute of viticulture and winemaking. The best developments of "Magarach" are introduced into production by the association "Massandra". Excellent wines "Massandra" and "Magarach" are not those that drink glasses. They'll be savored. These are truly elegant drinks, quite comparable to works of art. No wonder the best of them try to save. And in "Massandra" and "Magarache" created a kind of treasury - enoteks. They have bottles that have passed 150-200 years. In the tasting halls of wineries, guests of Crimea can enjoy sunny drinks of the South Coast and buy the best collectible wines of Crimean winemakers.
