Fairy tale fields
The fairy tale field (Ukr. Galyavina Kazok) is a museum of sculpture and floristics, located a few kilometers from Yalta on a forest glade directly under the open sky.
It is located above Yalta, above the South Coast Highway in a forested gorge. Hundreds of heroes of fairy tales are made of different materials, and often nature itself has already worked them out of funny driftwoods and growths. Here is the rapidly expanding zoo "Fairy Tale", the largest private zoo in Ukraine, where you can feed and pet animals, and take pictures with Baba Yaga and other fairy-tale heroes. A little higher is the hotel "Polyana fairy tales", which complements the buildings of the former camping. Even the car park here is decorated with giant arms and legs of a fabulous robot left after filming. From the camping to the top of the picturesque Krestovaya mountain (Stavri-Kaya) leads the recently updated Botkin Trail, named S.P. Botkin (1832 - 1889), a famous physician, researcher and propagandist of climate therapy at the SBC. Back in the 23rd year of the XX century, a Muscovite oil engineer Pavel Pavlovich Bezrukov, seriously ill with tuberculosis of the throat, was forced to temporarily leave Moscow, in the hope of recovery, he came to the southern coast of the Crimea. Having visited various places, he realized that he breathes best in a mountain forest rich in phytoncides, and in the vicinity of Yalta, on one of the forest fields he settled at the foot of the picturesque mountains, near the waterfall of Uchan-Su and the rock of Stavri-Kai. The Crimean climate healed him. After the war, already in his mature years, he returned to “His Polyana”, and as if in gratitude to the sorceress nature turned it into a fairy-tale world. Artistically gifted, having no special education, but endowed with a rich imagination and imaginative thinking, he began to create fabulous sculptures in wood and other materials, which were located right next to his own-built house. Nearby appeared the hut of Baba Yaga, cheerfully walked through the clearing friendly Bob, Sweetheart and Strawberry. A huge head of the Giant guarded this fabulous world, where the mighty Taras Bulba, the Insidious Black Sea and the cheerful Buratino came to life under the hands of a talented master, these sculptures were naive, they caused associations with folk art, simple pictures, but they had a lot of warmth, sincerity and good humor. Residents of Yalta and its guests visited this fairy-tale corner with interest, calling it “Field of fairy tales”. In 1960, this "Polyana" was already formed and began its short life. Unfortunately, the works of the folk craftsman did not survive, since in 1968 the “Polyana of Tales” was destroyed.
During the existence of Polyana, it became a favorite resting place for Yalta residents who could not reconcile with its elimination. There were strong voices in her defense. Under the pressure of public opinion, the Yalta City Executive Committee decides to create a fairy tale museum on this site. The Crimean Union of Artists instructs local sculptors to prepare sculptures-images of fairy-tale characters. People's craftsmen are also invited. The territory is being improved. Organizationally, the “Polyana of Tales” became a department of the Yalta Museum of Local Lore, in which the staff of the “Polyana” employees were included. On July 31, 1970, the exhibition “Fairy Tales” was officially adopted, and on August 1 the first visitors came here. "Fairy tales" as a branch of the Local History Museum existed for 19 years - until 1989. It is at this time that the most active and fruitful work on the formation and replenishment of the exposition takes place. For the creation of the first exposition, professional sculptors of Simferopol and Yalta were mainly involved. Their works and now form the basis of some thematic sections of the modern exposition L.S. Smerchinsky, who devoted all his work to the creation of heroic images of Soviet soldiers especially for “Polyana” sculpted one of the most monumental works “Ivan the Peasant Son”, where the hero, personifying the strength of the Russian people, tramples the defeated and defeated six-headed snake. This patriotic theme will then find its continuation in the same majestic and monumental works of the honored artist of the RSFSR Yalta sculptor Shmagun I.P. - "Svyatogor", "Boyan", "Guardians" (1976). The museum was created primarily for children, so the images of the most beloved fairy tales by children were embodied in sculptures. Made in solid material (concrete, diorite and marble, crumb, copper) they are well preserved to this day. Children are pleased to meet with Buratino (Smerchinskaya I.), Dr. Aibolit (Zhuravlev D.), Vasilisa the Beautiful (Soloshchenko N.), Three piglets (Maksimenko E.) and Three bears (Aleshchenko F.) and other heroes of fairy tales. A great part in the creation of the museum was taken by a wonderful master Yu.S. Sakharov, whose sculptures are virtuoso in the technique of wood processing. The amazing plasticity of the forms gives them a special musicality. His “Alenushka” first appeared on the “Polyana”. At the same time, in the early 1970s, Sakharov performed a number of works made of wood, 14 of which in the modern exposition created a separate thematic section. In a carefully polished, polished tree, the sculptor preserves and reveals the natural beauty of color, so the glowing amber robe, pink plum, reddish cypress, thick dark brown backout, golden willow and many different shades of maple, chestnut, karagacha, from which the sculptures are carved, create an unusual “palette” that pleases the eye and makes you wonder at the richness of nature. Next to the sculptures of Sakharov, as if radiating light and heat of wood, the works of the florist M.A. Chilikov is amazed by the richness of imagination and the ability to guess fabulous and fantastic images in dry outmoded trees, complex in configuration sparks of evil trunks, all kinds of growths on them, in a bizarre interweaving of roots and branches. Like every florist, Chilikov skillfully generalized and supplemented what was already created by nature itself, turning dead pieces of trees into heroes of fairy tales, legends, epics. Chilikov was one of the first florists whose works adorned the “Fairy Tales Field”. An unusual and original solution to the main entrance to the museum was proposed by Yalta sculptor V.A. Norokh. According to his project and sketches in 1972, the author himself together with the sculptor ST. Fedorov carved high figures of knights in the tree, which formed a fence - a reliable protection of a fairy-tale town, where good conquers evil, justice and all-conquering love triumph. These "beautiful knights" became the hallmark of "Polyana". “The Land of Fairy Tales” was created not only by Crimeans. From different places of the great Soviet Union came work. In 1970-1980, works were ordered and purchased for this unique museum not only by the regional department of culture, but also by the Ministry of Culture of the Ukrainian SSR and the Ministry of Culture of the USSR. Kyiv residents were pleased with the variety of techniques and materials from which sculptors were created: plexiglass ("Ivasik-Telesik" Koshelev C), majolica ("Ruslan and Lyudmila" himself), galvanoplasty ("Lilea" Dyachenko V.) In 1972-1973 on the "Polyana" through the Ministry of Culture of the USSR were delivered from Moscow magnificent sculptures made in metal "Balda and devils" Mitlyansky D., "Gussy swans" Romanovskaya A., "Bird Sirin" - casting from the work of Konenkov ST., "Fox and crane" Kirillova A. From Kharkov arrived cheerful gnomics with Snow White (1976). Rosenstein V., from the distant Pervouralsk - a series of floristic works from the exhibition "Forests of Siberia gift" of the folk craftsman Khramtsov M. Even the sculptors of the Union republics responded to the proposal to take part in the formation of such an unusual museum. From the beautiful dark red tuff in the technique of national stone carvings based on an Armenian fairy tale, the Yerevan sculptor G. G. made his monumental two-sided relief, and the Lithuanian master Zhlabis K. also carved the image of the Thunderer Pyarkunas in stone in national traditions. In the early 1980s, entire exposition compositions and complexes were created. These are “Teremok” with its inhabitants and “Slavic settlement, with seven brothers Simeons (according to the fairy tale of the same name) and the temple of the Slavic gods Fedor S”. A large gallery of fabulous images was created by a talented folk master from Alupka T.S. Marina. Her floristic sculptures and applications are very peculiar, differ in their expressive means, from the works of Chilikov and other florists. In the 1970s and 80s, large stationary exhibitions were organized on the “Fairy Tales Field”. The first such exhibition in 1973 was organized by a wonderful master florist M.A. Chilikov 50 of his works he combined with one name "Fairy Tales of the Crimean Forest", And 10 years later in 1983 he brought from Simferopol the second, no less interesting exhibition "Nature and Fantasy", which was presented 30 sculptures. In 1986, T.S. Marina showed her works - 24 applications and 17 sculptures. The works of each of these florists are very individual and unique. This can be called the second life of the tree. Already by 1975, the “Fairy Tales Field” was mainly formed, it became a new attraction of Yalta and a place of favorite rest for residents. This was manifested in the rapid growth of attendance. In the first months of the “Polyana” there were not many visitors. On October 28, 1970, employees wrote: “Few people go to Polyana – 100 people a day, no more.” Gradually, the popularity of “Polyana” grew. Already in the mid-1970s, huge queues were lined up at the cash register: a small Polyana could not accommodate everyone at once. A clear schedule for the reception of visitors was developed: every 5 minutes the group organized at the ticket office, accompanied by a guide, entered the “Polyana”. Now in the archives of the museum are printed by typographic method "Schedules of excursions on the "Fairy Tales Field", where every five minutes was provided for the recording of the next tour. And since the first group in the winter entered at 9.00 am, and the last at 17.15 h. (the duration of the tour is 45 minutes) - that day "Polyana" took up to 99 groups. In summer, the reception of excursion groups increased by 3 hours, so up to 130 excursion groups could take place per day. On average, from 2 to 2.5 thousand daily visited “Polyana” in the summer. Of course, this "museum boom" characteristic of the late 1970s - early 1980s has become a thing of the past, but even now the attendance of the "Polyana" is large - an average of 150 thousand visitors per year. In the late 1980s, the situation on the “Fairy Tales” changed significantly. With the beginning of perestroika and the development of new economic relations, a group of employees of Polyana, headed by the head of this department E.M. Levin, created a rental organization, separated from the local history (at that time already the United Historical and Literary Museum) and achieved that by the decision of the Council of Ministers of Ukraine No. 219 of August 19, 1989, the department of the Yalta United Historical and Literary Museum "Fairy Tales" was transformed into an independent self-sale Field. Its charter was registered on June 11, 1993 by the decision of the Yalta Executive Committee No. 387(6), the exhibits were leased from the museum. The rental company lasted exactly 8 years. On July 20, 1997, a meeting of members of the tenants’ organization (Minutes No. 1) decided: “to reorganize the rental enterprise Museum “Polyana of Tales” in LLC “Museum “Polyana of Tales”. July 30, 1997 by the order of the Chairman of the Yalta City Council No. 391-r(4) registered the Charter and the Constituent Agreement of LLC "Museum of fairy tales" with the Fund of municipal property of Yalta, the term of this agreement ended on 01.02.2004. Thus, “Museum Polyana of fairy tales” as LLC functioned for 6.5 years. The exhibits of the main and scientific and auxiliary fund were transferred to the LLC from the historical and literary museum for permanent storage. (At the expiration of the founding contract, they were returned to the museum.) Modernity[edit |] Edit wiki-text Currently, the "Polyana of fairy tales" is a communal enterprise of the Yalta City Executive Committee (KPJAGS "Polyana of fairy tales"). On December 26, 2003, the 18th session of the 24th convocation of the Yalta City Council decided: “To create a municipal enterprise of the Yalta City Council “Polyana of Tales”. The company was registered on 6 April 2004. The new management of the museum with great enthusiasm began to “revive” Polyana, seeking to return it to its former glory. There are few exhibits on the Polyana: 39 - the main fund, 66 scientific and auxiliary. (By order of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, they were transferred for permanent storage), 23 sculptures and floristic applications - a whole exhibition of T. Maryina's works "Nature and Fantasies" - were taken on long-term lease from the master's relatives. But since many of the exhibits are multi-figure compositions (from two to 30 sculptures under one number), the total sculptural works are currently in exposition 204 (under 105 rooms). All these works were made by 47 authors, professionals and craftsmen. From different materials - wood, stone, concrete with different colored crumbs, chamot, and other materials. The uniqueness of Polyana, its main difference from other museums, lies in its amazingly beautiful location: in the forest, on the northeastern slope of Mount Mogabi. From the clearing opens a beautiful view of the steep slopes of the main ridge of the Crimean mountains, the waterfall Uchan-Su, the rock Stavri-Kai. This beauty of the surrounding nature is a powerful positive energy and aesthetic background, giving the "Fairy Tales Field" extraordinary appeal. The main task of the exhibitors is to organically incorporate each sculpture into the surrounding landscape. Based on this, different sections of the exhibition were created. In part of the untouched dense forest is the "Kingdom of Baba Yagi"; In this “Fairytale Forest” sculptures of Baba Yaga and a hut on chicken legs and numerous floristic works are placed, which literally merge with the trunks of trees, making up as if one with a wild forest. On the site, more sparse from the trees, the "Slavic settlement" and 7 Simeonov brothers were located (according to the fairy tale of the same name). Water pond, Little Mermaid, Buratino on a turtle, Balda, muddying the water with a rope to get a deck with devils. At the edge of the forest grew Teremok with its inhabitants. A relatively flat space without a large number of trees is turned into clearings, on which sculptures are clearly visible. For each sculpture, the most successful place among the greenery is chosen. So, for example, "Lilea" with smooth, musical lines of volume well "fit" under the hanging willow. The scene of Mowgli’s farewell to the panther Bagheera is placed at the “exit” from the forest thickets. "Chernomor" hid in thick greenery ... The second task set by the exposition during the re-exposition is to group all the sculptures according to the thematic principle. As a result, new sections were created: the Pushkin glade appeared, as well as the Polyana of Slavic fairy tales, the Polyana of foreign fairy tales. After the re-exposition, the thematic structure of the exposition was compiled, which was approved by the Expert and Supervisory Council “Fairy Tales Fields”. The main sections of the exposition: 1) The idea of patriotism in folk tales and epics. (2) Fairy tales of the whole earth. (3) At the Lukomorie (artistically decorated entrance). (4) Ancient Slavic settlement. (5) East Slavic tales. (6) Fantastic forest (works of florists). (7) The exhibition pavilion of small forms - thematic sections: florism of M. Chilikov and T. Maryina; the nature of Yu. Sakharov's work; identification of the specifics of the material. (8) A diverse approach to the solution of fabulous images: thematic sections: the game principle (living Baba Yaga), wooden architecture, the beauty of natural stone. Fairy tales and legends of Crimea. (10) Pushkin glade. (11) European and contemporary fairy tales. The museum is primarily designed for children. Therefore, in addition to the traditional excursion held in the museum, it includes a performance with a live Baba Yaga, and in the summer there is a summer theater where you can see performances of clowns, pirates, mermaids, as well as a puppet performance every hour.
