Bangkok

Reclining Buddha temple

2 Sanamchai Road, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok, Thailand 10200 Thailand

Description:

It is one of the bulky and timeless temples of Bangkok, and at the same time it is a very common symbol of Thailand. The length of the walls along the perimeter is more than a kilometer. But it is famous not only for its huge calibers, but, above all, the largest statue of the reclining Buddha.

The Buddha has huge ears and the same toes. These are the characteristics of the “awakened” or bodhisattva who is different from the mere mortal. It is huge - the height of a three-story building, completely lined with gold leaf. There are so many things worth visiting and seeing in this area. In addition, it is the oldest school of Thai massage, which still teaches it.

To get here by metro, unfortunately, will not work, because there is no metro station nearby, but from the tourist district of Kaosan and Chinatown you can walk.
