King Mongkut's Summer Palace

In the capital of Thailand, Bangkok, one of the most interesting and memorable tourist places is the Summer Palace of King Mongkut. Mongkut became the modernizer of the country. The Summer Palace was his residence. The buildings of the palace are surrounded by water and its architecture is filled with different styles of other countries, both European and Asian.

Currently, the palace functions as a venue for ceremonies performed by the royal family. But the kings and their entourage do not live there.

There are regular excursions to the Summer Palace to get around it all takes one day.
