Queen Sirikit Textile Museum
Ratsadakorn-bhibhathana Building, Grand Palace, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok, Thailand
About the company:
In 2003, Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand requested permission to use a vacant building on the grounds of the Grand Palace to house a new textile museum. Permission was granted, and the former office building, which had housed the Ministry of Finance for many years, was adapted for a museum. During the reconstruction, the original facade and internal architectural details were preserved, but the building was equipped, according to the latest technology.
The main goal of the museum is to create a place where you can learn everything about textiles, or almost everything. Here you can get information about the history of traditional Thai clothing, how to make magnificent Thai silk and what clothes Queen Sirikit prefers.
In the shop at the museum you can buy elegant souvenirs and excellent textiles.
