Description:

Side flourished under Roman rule. During this period, famous monuments and structures appeared. Even today, the greatness of the Roman Empire is felt everywhere. The arched gate is the main attraction of the northern part of the city. They were built in honor of Emperor Vespasian in 71 BC. It is an example of monumental Roman architecture. Their height is six meters. The appearance has changed several times. They connect the two towers, and on both sides of them you can see the arches. Once in these niches there were statues of the emperor and noble nobles. They were decorated with Byzantine mosaics. The gate is impressive, although half destroyed. From the gate leads the road, which is considered the main city street.

You can get there by rented car or taxi, driving northwest to Liman Sd.
