Acquaintance with Istanbul - Old Town + a walk along the Bosphorus
Description:
My goal is to introduce you to the city and help you navigate it. In 6 hours you will go around the center, explore the sights, and if you want to see them from a different angle - sailing on a boat on the Bosphorus. I'll tell you the story in detail, teach you how to bargain, give recommendations and reveal local secrets.
- Blue Mosque – let’s go to one of the main mosques of Istanbul, which was built during the time of Sultan Ahmed I
- Hippodrome (Sultanahmet Square)* – pass through the square, which was once a huge stadium. You will see the monuments that adorned the center of the Ottoman Empire - the Snake Column, the Egyptian obelisk, the German Fountain and the palace of Ibrahim Pasha.
- Hammam Hürrem Sultan – Roxolana commissioned to build it in the 16th century, and the hammam still works. Let's see it from the street.
- Hagia Sophia – visit the mosque outside and discuss the architecture of the masters of the sixth century
- Topkapi Palace is the residence of the Ottomans. We will walk through the free territory, look at the manicured first garden and gates of Mehmed and Suleiman.
- Gulhane Park - its high plane trees are impressive! The park was once part of the Topkapi Palace and now hosts annual tulip festivals.
- *Sulaimaniyah* - by tram we reach the mosque, which was built by the great architect Sinan. You will explore his creation from the inside out. I will tell the story of the mosque and offer you a stunning view of the Golden Horn from the observation deck.
- Mausoleums of Suleiman and Hürrem - you will learn about the tombs of the great ruler and his beloved wife
- The Egyptian Bazaar, be careful! It’s hard not to buy everything here.
