Description:

Dolmabahce Palace is a decoration of the European part of the city. It dates back to the 18th century. First, there was a garden with the same name, which translates from Turkish as “plump garden”. Later came the palace of Besiktas Sarai. It became a favorite place of rest of the sultans. In 1843, a new residence was built. Abdul-Mejid I decided that the wooden palace had outlived its usefulness, and, having invited the best architects, ordered the modern building, not sparing 35 tons of gold. For 13 years we worked on the creation of a new palace. After the construction, the entire Sultan family moved there. From 1927 to 1938 it was the headquarters of the first president of the country. Until 1949, the Presidential Palace was here. Today it is a museum. The palace complex impresses with its beauty and size. You can get there by tram T1, boat wapuru, excursion transfer,
