Balykly Monastery is a female Orthodox. The name translates as 2 Monastery with Fish. Located outside the walls of Constantinople, it is known for its holy spring. There is a legend about the miraculous healing that gives life-giving water. It is believed that even the dead traveler was resurrected. The spring is opposite the altar. Beautiful fish live in it, in the light of them you can see especially well. In the temple itself there is an icon of the Virgin. Also here you can see the icons found during the excavations of Hagia Sophia. Behind the temple is a necropolis where memorial services are held. The courtyard is paved with marble tombstones. These plates were transported here during the restoration of the temple to honor the memory of their ancestors and protect them from vandals. The territory of the monastery is very green, smells of flowers. Sacred water in the spring can be collected for free. Millions of pilgrims come here every year. The monastery can be reached by tram or taxi.
