The Monastery of Our Lady and the Source of Zoodohu Pigi

In the capital of Turkey-Istanbul preserved a large number of ancient monuments. According to legend, the Monastery of Our Lady, located next to the healing spring of Zoodohu Pigs, was built in 560, during the reign of Justinian, who was cured of his diseases by the healing water of the Zoodohu Piga spring.
In our time, the architectural monument is open to tourists - the picturesque Christian ensemble of the shrine includes an Orthodox church, a women's monastery, an ancient necropolis and a holy healing spring.
The Monastery of Our Lady is located on Balykli Seyit Nizam Yol Street, next to the Armenian Cemetery. It is best to go to the monastery by metro from the center of Zeytinburnu or Bakyrkey.
