Bridge over the Bosphorus
Description:
The bridge connecting the Asian and European parts of Istanbul was first built more than two thousand years ago. This structure was more like a pontoon and served as a crossing place for warriors. Over time, a real bridge was formed at the crossing point. The bridge over the Bosphorus is called the Bosphorus Bridge and the Martyrs Bridge. The bridge is about one and a half kilometers long and 34 meters wide. The bridge in modern Turkey is equipped with illumination, which amazes with its beauty in the evening and at night residents of Istanbul.
Walking on the Bosphorus Bridge is prohibited for safety reasons. You can get to the attraction by car or bus, reaching the Ortakay transport stop. Tourists should know that you need to pay for the passage on the bridge.
