Description:
Monument to Pope John XXIII was erected near the Latin temple of St. Anthony of Padua. It is located to the right of the temple and is inscribed in the Venetian neo-Gothic style of the cathedral. The year of the opening of the monument to John XXIII - 2006.
The saint is represented in life size. There's a pigeon in his right hand. The statue of John XXIII is made of bronze.
It is one of the few monuments to the Pope ever erected in a predominantly Muslim country, making it a unique symbol of interfaith dialogue.
