Istiklal Street

Istiklal Street in Turkey (Istanbul) is one of the most famous pedestrian zones in the capital, a feature of which was a very unusual form of “boomerang”. The street is located in the Beyoğlu district, starts at Taksim Square and heads towards the Golden Horn, and its total length is slightly less than one and a half kilometers.

Today İstiklâl Saddesi is a traditional tourist route with temples, cultural centers and exhibition halls, libraries and museum expositions, street musicians and vibrant nightlife, restaurants and bars, shops and souvenir shops.
