Akagalar Gate, Topkapi Palace

There are actually many other names at the Akagalar Gate, such as the White Eunuch Gate or the Happiness Gate. They are located in Turkey’s largest city, Istanbul. They are considered the third largest gate of the Topkapi Palace - the most important palace of the Ottoman Empire until the middle of the XIX century. It now serves as a museum. Through the gate "Akagalar" you can get to the third courtyard. These gates were used only on solemn occasions, the rest of the time they were closed.

Topkapi Palace is located in the heart of the historic part of the city. It can be reached by high-speed tram line T1 or by taxi.
