Haydarpasha Railway Station

Description:

The construction of the Haydarpasha railway station began on May 30, 1906 during the reign of the padishah of the Ottoman Empire Abdülhamit II, in 1908 the station was put into operation. The area where the building is located was named after one of the Pashas of Selim III, Haydar Pasha. Haydarpasha serves the Asian suburbs of Istanbul and the entire eastern part of Turkey up to the borders with Armenia, Iran and Syria. This station is interesting because it completely occupies a narrow peninsula, outstanding in the Sea of Marmara and is thus surrounded by water on three sides. Directly from the foot of the station leave ferries to other parts of the city.
