Prejama Castle

Predjama Castle of Slovenia is one of the oldest in Europe. The first mention of it dates back to 1202. A distinctive feature is that the structure is literally built into the rock and at one time served as a fortress. Among the people of Slovenia, the castle is one of the key symbols of the struggle for independence. Today it is one of the most popular routes among tourists.

The building is located at a distance of about 10 kilometers from the city of Postojna. To get there on your own, just take a shuttle bus from Ljubljana. Stop, stop. Then there is a transfer to the bus, which carries to Predyama.

Cromberk Castle

It dates from the early 17th century. There is a tower at every corner of the castle. Baroque elements are evident in its architecture. It was built by Count Dornberski and sold to the Coronini family. Unfortunately, part of the castle was destroyed during the wars, and it was not possible to restore them. The art gallery, located on the ground floor, offers interesting works by Baroque masters of the Middle Ages. There is also a department, which contains furniture, clothes, utensils and photographs of the 19th century, telling about the history of the castle itself.

Otočec Castle

Otočets Castle is located in a fairly secluded place on the banks of the Krki River. The first mention of it is found in historical sources of the 13th century. In the 14th century, a wall was built around the castle. From the castle to the bank of the river could be reached by a drawbridge. This place had an advantageous location, so the city grew around the castle very quickly. Attacks of enemy hordes, fires passed him. In the 17th century, it was rebuilt in the Renaissance style, turning it from a defensive structure into a noble manor. In 1942, it was burned by partisans, and only in the 50s of the last century it was restored. There is a hotel here today, welcoming guests. At the local restaurant, tourists can try local cuisine. On the territory of the castle, festivals, costumed balls are held.

Dragon Bridge

The bridge is located in Ljubljana. Now it is fully considered a monument of architecture, which is under protection. It is named after the four dragons that guard the bridge. No one can name the exact reason for the construction, almost every resident has his own opinion on this matter. When the bridge was completed, its arch was the third largest in Europe.

The bridge is a favorite place not only for tourists, but also for the most inhabitants of the city, as well as the country.
