What do you know about Kamchatka?
Forget everything and go there. Drop your business, pick up your backpack and fly out immediately! There won't be another life for that.
Kamcha, that's what I call her now affectionately. Kamcha is an ocean, an ocean nearby, an ocean of impressions and emotions, an ocean of attractions.
Petropavlovsk-Kamchatka - the population is slightly more than our Berezniki, but looking at it, one gets the impression that he fell into the Stone Age! Locals are rapidly leaving the country in search of a better life.
Back in 2019, I firmly decided that in 2020 I would go to Kamchatka. March 2020 buying tickets. September 2020 "Well, hello, Kamchatka".
Two days without Sergey (I was waiting for the arrival of a friend) was difficult, I got sick, but I already managed to visit the hot springs, on the Khalaktyr beach, ride near the city and walk in two bays. By the way, +9 hours (the difference with Moscow) did not affect me. On the contrary, it was nice to feel like in the future.
Despite the difficult living conditions on the peninsula, the people here are very kind. Probably because they have not yet reached these capital pontiffs. This place is used to helping each other.
Already on the first day I was met at the airport, drove to the local attractions, booked accommodation, brought to eat.
How do I get there?
For thirty lands, this is probably about the Kamchatka Territory. One has only to think, a flight from Moscow to Elizovo (the neighboring city with an airport that hosts guests of the region) costs 23,000 rubles, and this is not much but almost a ticket to Turkey.
Also, if you are a resident of the European regions of the country, there are no direct flights to the peninsula. But already upon arrival you will have a small bonus, in the form of a shuttle, which runs all day from the airport to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. This helps not to spend a lot of money on taxis and time looking for transport. There are often buses in the city itself. One trip will cost up to 30 rubles.
Housing for tourists is quite affordable, good cozy hostels in the region of 1000 rubles. Apartment for a day can be rented from 2000-2500 rubles, but disassemble them like hot cakes!
For 10 days of travel we were lucky a lot: good cheap housing, cool trips with interesting instructors for a reasonable price, good weather, and the kindness of the locals who kindly took us from the ocean to the city.
As for trips, we managed to visit: two volcanoes, a mountain range, hot springs, canyons, waterfalls, raft fishing, a yacht ride in the ocean, climb the hill, explore the city, the main beach, and a very cool volcanology museum.
The price of trips varies, depending on the tour itself, ending with the company you have chosen. The most inexpensive entertainment was to go to the museum of volcanology - 800 rubles, the most expensive was a walk on a yacht, about 10 000. The city has several beautiful coves and hills, which offer a beautiful view of the city and bays, you can get to them absolutely free.
What did you drink, what did you eat?
Kamchatka is considered one of the most expensive regions of Russia. And there's something about it. Prices are higher, but not space. Except that cucumbers and tomatoes, which even in the season for 1 kg exceed 250 rubles.
We didn't miss the cafes. Almost all establishments are hung with beautiful light bulbs, which adds a special coziness, as well as the fact that few people. Eating in such establishments will cost from 400-500 rubles and more.
You just have no idea how happy we are with our 5s and Magnets at every turn. The fact of the matter is that it is not easy and quick to buy food on the peninsula, especially if you are planning early ascents and late returns. There are no usual chain stores and stalls on every corner, so do not postpone the purchase of products for later.
On one of the trips we met a man from Perm who made a good impression on me. In his “over 60” traveled to many countries, places in Russia and the Perm region.
The 12 days went by quietly, I didn't say "yet" to Kamcha, I said "see you."
Kamchatka is for love
