Alte Backstube Restaurant

Alte Backstube Restaurant is located in one of Vienna’s most beautiful Baroque buildings. Lange Gasse 34 was a bakery that closed in 1963. The old ovens were not destroyed, but separated into an independent part of the restaurant, where excursions are held today. In another room is the Alte Backstube itself, where you can dine by candlelight while enjoying classic Viennese cuisine.

In many Viennese restaurants, you can order one or two traditional dishes prepared according to the classic unchanging recipe. In the restaurant Alte Backstube absolutely all the food is prepared only according to centuries-old traditions, without experimenting with proven recipes. Here you can order real Vienna Apple strudel or classic beef with apple horseradish, green onions and Erdä pfelschmarr'n sauce. In addition to an excellent selection of wines, you can try delicious local beer here.
