Brewery "Pilsensky Prazdroy"
U Prazdroje 7b, 301 00 Plzeň, Czech Republic
About the company:
The plant was created on the initiative of the innkeeper Václav Mirvald. The foundation stone of the plant was laid in 1839. The company was well equipped, and German brewer Joseph Groll was invited to work out the production technology. Raw materials for the production of the first batch were brought from Bavaria, but a year later barley and hops for Plzensky beer began to grow in the vicinity of the city, and the excellent taste of the resulting beer was explained not only by the talent of the brewer, but also by the natural quality of local raw materials and water. Now access to the plant is open to anyone who would like to get acquainted with the technology of production of the famous Plzensky beer. However, no matter how much the world tried to create an analogue of this beer, no one has yet succeeded. The Pilsen Prazdroy plant produces about 4,000 hectoliters of beer per year. The group includes four breweries: Plzensky Prazdroy, a factory for the production of the famous beer brand Gambrinus, a brewery Radegast and a plant producing beer Velkopopovitsky Goat.
