Church of Saints Sergius and Bacchus
Description:
The Church of Saints Sergius and Bacchus is a sacred place for believers. Mostly, it is an underground structure, but a pretty chapel with a cross on the dome looks out. The building itself is rounded. Getting here is not as easy as other churches.
Sergius and Bacchus are heroes of Roman legends who performed a feat of faith. The emperor was unhappy that they professed Christianity instead of worshipping pagan gods. The brothers unfortunately did not abandon their principles and were executed after much torture. Inside the church is cleaned simply, but this is only at first glance. The iconostasis, images of scenes from the Bible on the panels create a special atmosphere in this place. The temple is located in the Coptic Quarter of Cairo, and you can always fly to Cairo.
