One of the attractions of Cairo and Egypt is Mount Muqattam. It is located in the east of the Egyptian capital.
The mountain has several caves that are famous for their mysterious origins. A church was built in one of the caves. On top of this mountain stands another church built in the 11th century.
From the top of Mount Muqattam there is a beautiful view of Cairo.
The mountain every year becomes a place of mass pilgrimage of religious people. Tourists can be seen here almost daily.
You can get to the sights by bus or taxi, reaching the settlement of "scavengers-copts".
