Al-Azhar Park

El Darb El-Ahmar, Cairo Governorate, Egypt

Description:

Al-Azhar Park was built on a wasteland located between the city wall of Cairo and the tomb of the Mamluks. The park was built for eight years and now on its territory, equal to 30 hectares, there are beautiful alleys, orchards, fountains and much more.

Magnificent palm alleys, a large lake with many canals, pavilions with elegant arches and vaulted ceilings – all this can be seen in the amazing Al-Azhar. The park has restaurants, cafes, playgrounds and a stage for concerts.

From the hills of Al-Azhar, you can see a stunning view of the historic center of Cairo – the Old City, the Cairo Citadel and the Hassan Mosque.

Entrance to the territory is allowed from 10:00 to 22:00 (and in summer - until 23:00), and the cost of visiting is 10 pounds.
