Sultan Hassan Mosque
Egypt, Cairo, square in front of Salah al-Din citadel
Description:
Sultan Hassan Mosque is one of the religious attractions of Egypt and is recognized as an object of cultural and historical heritage.
The Sultan Hassan Mosque was built in the middle of the 14th century and is named after Sultan Nasir al-Din al-Hasan, who ruled at the time. In the same mosque is the tomb of its founder. Historians argue that Sultan Hassan was not buried in a mosque, but that his son is actually buried there.
The mosque survived many trials, collapses, shelling from cannons, but despite this, it is well preserved to this day.
You can get to the mosque by public transport after reaching the Hasan Mosque stop.
