Monument to Auguste Mariet

tahrir Square, Cairo, Egypt

Description:

The monument to Auguste Mariet is unlike any other monument you have seen.

François Auguste Ferdinand Mariet worked as a language teacher, and one day he came across a series of sketches by an artist dedicated to Egypt. François loved it, and he studied Egypt. He was noticed, and soon his workplace became the Louvre. After years of hard work, he gained a monopoly on archaeological excavations in Egypt.

You can find this great monument to the great man in the garden of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, where you can fly by direct flight.
