Tasting tour in the valley of Francecorta
Description:
Franciacorta and sparkling wine tasting.
The fabulous valley of Franciacorta has been inhabited since ancient times. During archaeological excavations, the remains of a village on stilts were found here, at that time located on peat swamps and lakes. These primitive peoples come into contact with the Etruscans, Celts and Romans. It was the Romans who divided the valley of Franciacorta into "centuries" to implement effective communication, built new cities, villas and fortified settlements. Here, agriculture, livestock, fishing and handicraft production began to develop rapidly. During our tour of the valley of Franchacorta, we will admire the ancient castles, villas and temples, as well as talk about the history of their origin. The wines of Franciacorta are no longer called "Italian champagne" because they have managed to win their own fame. In this hilly area stretches limestone substrate, which favors the roots of the vine for the formation of alcohol and an unforgettable smell.
The tour is all day long.
We will visit the cozy towns of Lake Iseo, as well as the 3 most famous wine cellars of the Franciacorta zone.
