Description:

A sightseeing tour of Phnom Penh is a unique opportunity to get acquainted with all the sights of the capital of Cambodia in one day.

Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda: The Royal Palace was built on the site of a former fortress in 1866. On the territory of the Royal Palace, you should pay attention to the library, which stores sacred texts written on the leaves of the palm tree, as well as the pavilion with a huge footprint of the Buddha and the model of Angkor Wat. On the neighboring territory is the Silver Pagoda, on the wall of which there is a gallery around the perimeter.

Wat Phnom Temple: Cambodian legend says that about six centuries ago a woman named Penh found several Buddha figurines on the banks of the Tonle Sap River. Being rich and very devout, she built a temple for the sacred figures of the Buddha on the top of the nearest hill. In fact, this hill was quite small, but it was the highest mound in the area. So this area was called Phnom Penh or "Hill of Penh".

Wat Unalom. It was built in the distant 1403 and to this day is an active monastery of the royal family. Wat Ounalom still conducts traditional religious rites according to the "teachings of the ancients." A large number of people gather to conduct ceremonies, everyone reads a mantra. According to beliefs, visiting the rite in this temple, you touch the “holy”, which cleanses your body and gives good luck. In the backyard of Wat Ounalom, in its very center, there is a stupa under which the Buddha’s hair, transported from Sri Lanka, is stored.

Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum: School - S 21, turned by the Khmer Rouge into one of the main prisons in 1975. More than 140,000 people passed through it before being killed in the Death Fields south of Phnom Penh. Only 8 people remained alive.
